History

Over 60 years of evolution

In the heart of Monferrato, in Montechiaro d'Asti, the Pianta family laid the foundations for a business destined to last over half a century. A leader in Europe in the production of coffins, the company has maintained artisanal rigor and attention to detail as distinctive traits of its production. Pianta has always chosen a path of quality, sustainability, and transparency, creating a production environment where every stage—from selecting the wood to finishing—is carefully managed.

Over time, the Pianta family’s legacy passed into the hands of Gianni and Donatella Clerico, and today their son Andrea manages the company. "Every coffin is absolutely unique," they explain. Their mission is to continue the tradition, combining it with innovation and respect for the environment. Today, the company has 30 employees, produces about 6,000 coffins per year, and exports mainly abroad, with a small portion for the Italian market, always maintaining the same artisanal spirit.

Every day 20-25 coffins are produced, each handcrafted with attention to every single detail: Wood selection, Cutting and assembly, Finishing, Quality control. The result? High-quality coffins, ready to meet every aesthetic and functional requirement, even for the simplest models.
